Physical Description
Cass has long, naturally straight red hair, though it isn't as red as the Weasly's typically is, for which she is thankful. She always has it down or in a low ponytail, preferring to keep it out of the way. Her eyes are a dark brown, inherited from her Mother, and appear almost black against her pale skin.
Having a health nut for a sister helped Cass in the long run, so she is physically fit for her age. She is an active person, often going out on the grounds and playing various muggle sports away from the eyes of her peers.
Dressing Style
As long as it's clean and comfortable, Cass will wear almost anything. It doesn't even have to be really clean, just so long as it doesn't have any huge stains on it or smell bad. But she hates wearing skirts and dresses, preferring to cover herself completely. She prefers t-shirts above anything. T-shirts and jeans, the really old pairs she owned that were worn down with holes in the knees, and her neon orange jacket.
Winter or summer, she always brought the jacket with her. She tied it around her waist during the summer, and wore it during the winter. It was just something she was used to, and it had been given to her by her father. (It annoys her that she can't wear it during school hours because of the uniforms.)

History
Cass was the second and final child to grace the Serein family, born four years after her elder sister. She was a happy child, extremely close to her family, particularly her Mother. So it realty hit her hard when she was suddenly gone.
Catherine Serein had been diagnosed with the HIV disease when she was 25, and it had become AIDS by the time she was 28. The disease had killed her quickly, though even doctors were unsure as to why. But all the same, Cass lost her mother only a month after her 5th birthday.
While her family mourned her death, Cass took it especially hard. It was at this point that she began to isolate herself from the world. When she first began school she rarely spoke, and never really made any friends. Her only comfort was her books. Her health began deteriorating, and she spent a month in and out of various doctors offices as she began to get sick.
Needless to say, her family was terrified that they were going to lose her as well. Her Father started an in home business and home school her, and her sister became extremely protective of her, wanting to shield her from everything that could ever harm her.
Under her Father and Sister's watchful eyes, she slowly regained her health and got over her mother's death. By the time she was ten she was like any other child, if you ignored the fact that she rarely spoke to others and seemed to be completely naive to the real world.
When Cass received her Hogwarts letter, she had the same opinion as many muggleborns did. She was sure it was a hoax. But she was soon proven wrong, and her eyes were opened to the world of magic. She eagerly agreed to attend the prestigious magic school. But her opinion was only half the battle.
Edward was extremely wary about sending his daughter away. He was afraid she would become ill again, away from his protection. But he also knew that if he didn't allow her to go, she would miss out on a promising experience. So, he reluctantly allowed her to attend.
Cass first couple of years proved to be beneficial. Her health actually improved with her stay there. She even made more friends. Hogwarts had taught her many things, and had opened her eyes to the world, both magical and muggle. But now she finds herself drifting farther and farther from the world and people she once cherished greatly, causing resentment to force her once close relationship with her Father and Sister to deteriorate. Her family wants nothing to do with her new world, despising it. Cass finds herself having to choose between her family and her future, and right in the middle of O.W.L.S. too!

"Quidditch?" Cass blinked, her eyes carefully concentrating on the book in front of her while she listened in on the conversation two nearby third years were having. From what she could hear, they were talking about some sort of sport on brooms. "Oh, yeah... They fly brooms here." A small snicker escaped the first year at the thought.
Despite having attended Hogwarts for nearly a month now, it still baffled her, some of the strange things wizards and witches did. "Oh, yeah. We have flying lessons next week..." Cass tilted her head, trying to picture herself flying through the air on a broom. All she got was a rather amusing picture of herself as she flew around on a bright yellow broom with short black bristles, the very same broom she used at home.
She made a face at the image, though it was rather funny. Maybe she would like flying. It would hurt to try it, at the very least. "As long as it doesn't make me want to break out the Mr. Clean." She reasoned with herself.
Oh, and dumbles. =3
