The wind blew from the South West at a light 4 miles an hour, or at least that is what the weather channel had called for in this area yesterday when Rose had actually had the wonders of a television. Her mother just could not give it up, as it was a large part of her heritage when she was growing up and while Hermione normally watched some informational channel, Rose found better things to do with it. Now though Rose was at Hogwarts were a television would not work so she had only the weather mans estimate from yesterday to go on, but from the way the grass was swishing and the leaves rustling she figured he had been pretty dead on.
Rose gave a small, frustrated sigh as she reached up and re-did her pony tail, as her hair seemed set on falling out of it today for some unexplainable reason. She was sitting under a willow down by the lakes edge, and unknown to her it was the same tree her parents had sat under during their six years at Hogwarts. It was the first day back from summer vacation and while classes would start tomorrow, she had today off to explore and get her bearings again.
There was a rustle in the leaves, larger then the slight breeze would have caused and Rose gave a frightened startle only to see a sparrow fly out of the tree and off into the distance. “Get a grip Rosie…it’s simply a sparrow….and now you are talking to yourself.” She muttered to herself with a small laugh. Today she was wearing a pair of jeans with a green tee and a pair of white sneakers. She didn’t hear the people approaching her shaded sanctuary though.

x To be completely honest, Dominique wasn't having one of her most exciting days at all. There was practically nobody to talk to, and she was beginning to feel it was pointless to visit the school before it was opened for teaching and whatnot. Of course, Dominique realized that if school was open, there would be at least one interesting person to talk to. Sighing quite loudly, she made her way across the school's grounds, a slight breeze blowing at her. She was clad in a white sundress and wore a silver necklace on her neck, as there was just enough skin exposed on her chest to let it dangle freely, the sun glinting off of it with every step she took. Obviously, Dominique liked to look good. And she did so, in a very lovely manner.
This would be her last year at Hogwarts, and she fully realized it. She was now beginning to understand that she needed to begin figuring out what she really wants to do with her life, who she wants to be friends with, and what parts of school will truly help her with furthering her success in life. Both in her career and in finding herself. Frankly, Dominique hadn't done the best job of that over her years at Hogwarts. She always seemed to do what she thought was fun and 'in the moment.' Of course, this wasn't too horrible. Sure, she drank a little firewhisky, snogged with a few guys. But who doesn't, right? That was the thing, though, she didn't exactly know if her lifestyle was the correct one to be living. It's her life, she knows, but is she making the right choices?
Without truly knowing it, Dominique had reached the black lake, her mindless wandering taking her there. As she simply stood at the edge for awhile, staring into the scary depths of the lake, she glanced up, noticing someone sitting under a tree. In all truth, she didn't care who the person was. She just wanted someone to talk to! With her luck, though, it happened to be her cousin, Rose Weasley, in whom she was on quite good terms with. The two never really argued about anything, and they were pretty close, just as all of their family was. Approaching the redhead, Dominique exclaimed happily, "Rosie!" Smiling brightly as she flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder, afraid the wind had probably messed it up, she continued, "I didn't know you were visiting the school as I was.. How've you been? It's been awhile.~"

.x. - - + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + - - James walked out to the black lake and wandered to a covering where his actions would be covered by leaves. He attempted to practice his animagus form, which he would transform to an eagle. He successfully transformed and smiled to himself. He looked up when he heard someone below him and smiled to himself {or at least how much an eagle could smile} when he saw one of his many cousins: Rose Weasley. He quietly flew to the ground and transformed there, crashlanding as he transformed. He sat on the floor and rubbed his head, groaning a bit. He hadn't mastered it of course, but it was getting there.
He stood up and wiped the dirt from his jeans. He stuck his hands in his pockets and pulled on his signature smirk as he walked out of the hidden area. He smirked at his cousin and then noticed her fright. He chuckled then said in assurance "Don't worry about it, it's just me." He walked up to his cousin and then looked down at her. He was a good deal taller than her but not enough to tower over her exactly. He smiled at her hten asked in a more friendly tone "Haven't seen you since the gathering last month: what's up?" He sat down at a rock by the water's edge and shoved some hair aside with his fingers as the wind blew it in his eyes. He reached in his pocket and took out a lollipop and stuck it in his mouth after unwrapping it. He looked at his cousin curiously and then awaited her answer.

x “Oh, it seems to be quiet a little family reunion.” Rose said with a laugh as she saw two of her cousins, appear…the one seemingly out of thin air. She would have to question him later about that. “And I WASN’T worried…simply startled.” She said the first part quickly giving James a slight glare, pausing and then saying the second part calmly and trying to be collected a smile on her face now. “You never know who or what is hanging out in trees above your head.” She added to try to prove her point further while attempting NOT to be embarrassed. “Hello Dominique.” Rose said with a smile at another one of her favorite cousins, who unlike James did not annoy her quiet as much…but maybe that was because she spent more time around the Potters rather than Dominique’s family.
“And I’m not only visiting, school starts tomorrow so it’s usually a good idea to be here by now.” Rose stated with a small giggle at the end. “But aside from that I’ve been doing fairly well. Keeping out of trouble par usual, unlike some of our dear cousins,” She paused giving a significant glance towards James, “And I’ve been catching up on my reading.” She added leaving out some of the details, but really why trouble them with her worries when they should be more concerned about graduating at the end of the year. Ok, so she figured Dominique could graduate easily, but James….well…if he stopped playing around both with girls and pranks he might get out of detention long enough to actually get some work done. But who was she to lecture him? “Any particular reason you carry a lollypop in your pocket? Or is that simply a new hobby of yours?” She asked James with a smile.

“Oh, it seems to be quiet a little family reunion. And I WASN’T worried…simply startled. You never know who or what is hanging out in trees above your head.”
James almost groaned aloud. It wasn't that he didn't like his family: it was just that he hated how everywhere he went at Hogwarts, or anywhere else int eh wizarding world for that matter, was a family reunion. He could never hang around by himself, but it wasn't always a bad thing of course, it was always good to have someone to talk to, even if it was alwayys the same people. He chuclkled at the latter part of his cousin's words. He looked at her with a cocked eyebrow and then raised his arms as if in surrender, if to say He, I didn't say anything. Though that wasn't technically true...
James looked up when he saw Dominique, who was in Hufflepuff. He smiled her her crookedly then gave her a small nod of the head in acknowldegement. He really felt like being lazy right now, but what else was new? He had just closed his eyes to the cool breeze when his eyes flew open at being spoken too. His eyes glazed over slightly as he looked at Rose.
“But aside from that I’ve been doing fairly well. Keeping out of trouble par usual, unlike some of our dear cousins, And I’ve been catching up on my reading Any particular reason you carry a lollypop in your pocket? Or is that simply a new hobby of yours?”
He reluctantly took his hands out of his pockets and removed the lollipop from his mouth. He wiped his mouth lazily then stared at his cousin then a mischevious smile grew on his face after a moment or two. He gave a mock shudder, half in joke and half in seriousness. "Ugh. Reading. I don't understand how you could do that for fun." He looked his cousin up and down with critisizing eyes, but with a smile on his face: she knew he was joking.. At least she should, or else she didn't know him as well as he thought she did. "There isn't really." He held the lollipop up to his face and started twirling it in his fingers then shrugged poppin git back in his mouth "It's part of my new 'cool' image." He leaned back and looked at his cousins down from his nose and then chuckled. "What do you think? Kills doesn't it?" He struck his more casual pose and took the loollipop back out of his mouth and held it in front of his mouth licking his lips then stuck it back into its place in his mouth

"Oh," Dominique exclaimed, laughing a bit. "School does start tomorrow, doesn't it?" Indeed, she could be the one who wasn't really all that up-to-date as to what was going on in her life. Now, if you asked Dominique who was dating who, she could give you the answer faster than one could say 'quidditch." But, that's what people loved about the girl, so she did keep it up.
Also noticing her other cousin, James Potter, Dominique smiled, as the kid always seemed to be getting into some kind of trouble or another. Much like, as she had heard, his deceased grandfather. It was always tragic, thinking about her uncle's parents, as the story was quite troublesome. It made her sad everytime she heard it, and she really valued her family actually being there for her. Dominique didn't know how she could live without her family by her side.
Chuckling lightly as James attempted to look cool and all, Dominique said, "Some things never change, do they?" Laughing a bit harder now, she smiled at James and Rose, directing a question toward the two. Fiddling with her necklace a bit, Dominique inquired, "So, do you guys think anything interesting will happen this year? So far, nothing much has been going on in my school career.." Sighing, Dominique recalled all the stories she heard about her family members and about when they went to Hogwarts. It truly did seem more exciting, back in the day.

“And I don’t understand how you can run around and pull pranks all the time and spend most of your time worried about your image so you can dazzle the poor and mostly innocent girls at Hogwarts.” Rose responded in an equally teasing manner. She had a laughing smirk on her face and had one eyebrow risen as if to say ‘What now? I win!’. It was part of their normal banter, as Rose was closer to James, Albus and Lily probably more so then any of her other cousins as her parents were so close to theirs. Even if there was not a LARGE family gathering, on Fridays or Saturdays you would probably find the Potters and the Granger-Weasley’s getting together for one thing or the other. Not that Rose was complaining she loved her Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry and all her cousins….but she could not help but think it would be nice to have ONE free weekend aside from when one of them left to go somewhere else. “And again James, only your modesty is outdone by your humility. One could never even begin to fathom comparing to you and your….cool…..image.” She said pausing at the word cool as that wasn’t EXACTLY the word choice she was going to put….but why deflate his ego when it was so much fun to try and see him walk through doors with his overly sized head.
Rose had listened to Dominique figure out that school did in fact start tomorrow and had barely contained herself for 15 seconds, trying to keep a straight face before she let out a short burst of laughter, reeling her lips back in to stop and biting her bottom lip to keep from laughing again. A smile though, was permanently attached to her lips for the time being. “You didn’t realize that the train brought us here for a reason?” She asked somewhat stunned at the blonde moments her cousin could have. “And no, James will always be a stuck up, egotistical, flirt who can’t say no.” She added, giving James another teasing smile. Oh, how it was fun to pick on her older cousin, but he just made it so easy. “And I don’t really know. I mean, are you really complaining that we are not fighting off dragons, or killers, or giant snakes or men out to kill us to take over the wizarding world? I’m glad everything’s calm…gives more time to sit back and relax and read a book.” She said seriously, a smile on her face at the mere thought.

James smiled at his cousins and friends and then touched his heart as if to be touched "I'm so touched! You think I dazzle girls! My Rosie, if you weren't my cousin, I would kiss you!" He said jokingly. He chuckled and then pouted at her "Watch me say no! See there? I said NO! NONONONOO!!!" He screamed into the air, throwing his head back as he did so. Then started laughing out loud at his own ridiculousness.

Dominique gave Rose a quick tap on the arm, knowing fully well that the girl was laughing at her. Of course, if it was anybody else, she would have probably stormed off in some dramatic manner, but Dominique knew her family too well and loved them too much to do that- However, she did recall them giving her some business about having had a fling with a certain Slytherin quidditch player. Sometimes, she thought, they weren't all that open-minded!
"Well, I.. I just wasn't thinking!" She said, defensively. Listening to Rose explain her thoughts on Dominique's prior statement, she added, "I guess you're right, though. It's better to just take life as it is, no?" Smiling widely, she further went to say, "It's not like my years here have been boring. Actually, they've been far from!" Her eyes drifted from the group and into the distance for a time, as she recalled the memories of her years at Hogwarts. Shaking her head a bit, her blonde locks moving in motion with her head, Dominique added, "It just seemed like everything ADVENTUROUS happened to our parents. Which is quite strange to me, really."

“Thank gods I’m related to you then. I really am not in the mood to vomit.” Rose replied teasingly to James, a laughing smile on her face. “As for your NO problem, you know exactly what I mean….though I have to say you ARE more dramatic then most females around here.” Rose replied, teasing James again. Most people would not think it was so fun because it was so easy…but for Rose it was the opposite. BECAUSE it was so easy to tease and pick on her cousin, it just made it better when she did, and she never let an opportunity pass her by. “And are you done screaming now? Or shall we move away before we go deaf?” She asked pretending to snap her finger by her ear to make sure that she could still properly hear.
“Yes, you and James both seem to have fairly exciting years while attending this school. I on the other hand prefer my cool and non-active demeanor and class schedule. I do not mind having free time on my hand.” Rose said with a smile, as she remembered easily how both of her older cousins were no strangers in the dating scene. Rose never did jump right into though, and now had no immediate plans to do so. “So? It would also depend on your personal definition of adventurous, would it not?” She asked, though silently adding in her head ’Oh yes, if you only knew what some of us found…you would not be saying this school was boring. Well…technically this stuff was found at the Shrieking Shack…but same difference really.’

James smirked at his cousin. "Oh, yes, you lead an exciting life." He said sarcastically and then remembered what Rose, himself, and three others had discovered only a while ago. He was about to say it aloud, but remembered that Dominique knew nothing of hte matter:: he simply chuckled a bit under his breath and hten gave Rose a knowing smile, touching his nose with his pointer finger as he did so.
He stuck his hands in his pockets and thought back to the momentous event:: the 5 had agreed to tell no one of what had happened: not their parents, family, friends, no one. At the time he had found it harsh: to keep such a great secret was no easy task, especially when he wanted to draw attention to himself. But of no matter, he didn't seem to have a problem doing that anyway. He always had girls swooning over him whatever he did: not to be concieted or anything.
He gave Rose an obnoxious look, then laughed sarcastically "Touche Rosie, Touche." He stuck the lollipop back in his mouth and started sucking on it. He kind of felt bad for Dominique: Rose and him were goking around and totally excluding their other cousin. He then nodded his head in her direction then said as best as he could with a lollopop in his mouth "Well you? What did you do that is so fascinating?"

Giggling to herself quietly, Dominique knew fully well that her cousin wasn't the most outgoing of all girls. Of course, she didn't view that as a bad thing. There was definitely nothing wrong with a girl who like to sit back, relax, and enjoy a good book. It just wasn't exactly the Dominique preferred to live! She had always been the girl who would always have plans, want to go out, or simply have a crazy and fun time. It got her into trouble sometimes, but nothing all that serious.
Shaking her head as if James had no idea who she was, Dominique said with a small laugh, "Seriously? You haven't heard anyy rumors about me?" Shaking her head a bit more and smiling, Dominique tucked some of her hair behind her ears, as the breeze kept seeming to mess it up. Damn, she always needed to know she looked good. It could be quite annoying at times, really. "Well, I just like to live for the moment and do what's fun, so I guess that gets me into some.." She paused for a moment, giggling while raising her eyebrow a bit for a second, "..exciting situations, I suppose." Dominique had been put into some crazy situations in her time, whether it be sneaking a little too much firewhisky out of the Three Broomsticks or nearly getting caught outside of her dorm after hours.
Dominique loved her cousins, but sometimes they did get a bit cliquey. It wasn't on purpose, of course. It was just that the Weasley-Grangers and the Potter-Weasleys spent more time around each other than Dominique's family. She wished, however, that they had gotten to know each other better throughout these years, rather than seeing them occasionally and whatnot. They always did have fun at family get-togethers, though, so that made up for everything else, in truth.

“And by exciting situations she means there is a new guy in her dorm room every week, and a new name on her parchment that she is suppose to be taking notes on.” Rose chirped a smirk on her lips as she gave innocent eyes to Dominique. “That or the fact that at least once a month she shows up to her common room and dorm a few hours late, the scent of firewhiskey prevalent on her breath even before she was of age.” Rose added remembering the rumors that spread about her cousin. Most of the time she yelled at people for spreading them, but first, Dominique was here, and James was family so it was ok to tease about it, rather then try to bring Dominique down.
Rose loved her cousins…all 500 thousand of them, and ok that was an exaggeration but sometimes it felt like that many. Even still though, she like the rest of them could not wait for a break. Next year she would be the oldest Weasley/Potter at Hogwarts along with Albus, and then they would be leaving and she would be free to go away for a while and finally…know what it was like to be herself was probably the best way to put it. Of course, it was always fun to tease the cousins who were older then she…in a battle of wits James and Dominique came in unarmed.

James chuckled as he watched the two cousins tease each other back and forth. HE sucked on his lollipop thoughtfully then raised his eyebrows in amusement. It was nice to see someone else teasing each other for a change: it gave him a break. Normally he was the one doin the primary teasing. But then again, he enjoyed it too: that was why he did it so often, so much so that he was almost known for it, but what did it matter? As long as he had fun and managed to be passable in school.
He shook his head at his cousins and then looked at the two "You two underestimate me. Who hasn't heard those rumors? If anyone knows about rumors its me, there is always something good on others. Take for instance... me?" He smiled crookedly and then gave a small signature smirk at the two. "And its not like I'm not smart like you Rose, you Ravenclaw, if I wasn't smart, would iI have been able to be in my 7th Year and have 10 OWLS?" He raised his hands as if to stop nonexistant applause. "No please, congradulate me later." HE smiled. He could have mentioned that he was an animagus and would be officially registered soon, but he wanted to save that surprise for the right moment. Now did not seem.. dramatic enough. But then again, James was one who liked sticking out, no matter what he did he managed to stick out among the rest, something he liked.

"Oh, haha," Dominique exclaimed quite fakely. "Just because YOU haven't gotten yourself involved with such activities, yet, doesn't mean that the rest of us shouldn't!" Crossing her arms defiantly, she felt as if she had made a strong argument in terms of Rose's accusations. In her mind, anyways. Knowing her cousin, Rose would probably not exactly find that even an argument. Just more reason to tease the poor Part-Veela. Poor? Ha, far from.
Shoving her cousin jokingly, Dominique said, "Okaaay Mr. Ego, we get that there are THOUSANDS of rumors spreading around about the great James Potter. We've all heard them, haven't we?" Giggling a bit, she was just trying to join in the fun; it seemed as if these two cousins always had a good time joking around with each other.. As it was truly entertaining. "Not that I have heard rumors regarding this James, but don't laugh at me for the whole firewhisky business.. I know that you probably take at least a sip or two every now and then!" It was true; a ton of the students at Hogwarts loved firewhisky. Some more than others, but they rarely got caught soo, it wasn't a hard activity to take part in.
